Travelex, a leading global foreign exchange company, has announced the opening of its latest retail outlet at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
This marks the company’s 13th location at the airport and its second in the Arrivals Meet & Greet area, further solidifying Travelex’s presence in the region.
The new store is strategically designed to cater to inbound visitors, providing a convenient spot for travelers to exchange up to 45 global currencies into Qatari Riyals and send money to over 350,000 locations worldwide.
With this addition, Travelex continues to simplify financial transactions for passengers arriving in Qatar.
In addition to its conventional retail outlets, Travelex operates four mobile kiosks across the terminal. These kiosks can be relocated to high-traffic areas during peak travel periods, ensuring accessibility for travelers.
The expansion reflects Travelex’s proactive approach to addressing the growing tourism demand in Qatar, particularly at one of the Middle East’s busiest airports.
In 2024, Hamad International Airport was recognized as the World’s Best Airport in the SKYTRAX World Airport Awards, handling over 13.7 million passengers in Q3 alone.
Qatar continues to attract international visitors with its modern infrastructure, cultural attractions, and world-class facilities.
The store was officially launched on December 15, 2024, with notable attendees including Ian Mason, Director for Business & Trade at the British Embassy in Qatar, Francois Bourienne, VP Commercial of Hamad International Airport, and Nasir Lambe, General Manager for Travelex Qatar.
Batu Dölay, Managing Director for Travelex Middle East and Türkiye, expressed enthusiasm for the company’s regional growth:
“We are thrilled to expand our presence in Qatar with this new location at Hamad International Airport.
As regional tourism continues to thrive, Travelex is committed to making travelers’ journeys smoother by offering seamless access to travel money.
Qatar’s unique blend of modern architecture and stunning landscapes makes it an exceptional destination, and we are proud to support its flourishing tourism industry.”
